Pope St. John Paul II stated 'Parents are the first and most important educators of their own children. However, sometimes parents express uncertainty about how to approach and explain the areas of human sexuality. Toward Loving is designed to facilitate interaction between parent and child, enabling parents to share, instruct, and talk with their child confidently on sensitive topics that may be difficult to otherwise discuss. At the same time, the programme provides a non-threatening environment for parents, children, and schools to talk about the Catholic Teaching on human sexuality, convened by experienced and trained facilitators. The seminar is conducted on an evening at the school, so the parent/caregiver and child can both attend. Participants are not required to share with others present at the evening.
