2026 Term 1 Virtue Awards

At the end of each term all our staff have the opportunity to nominate ākonga who have displayed one of the 7 virtues.  These are the 3 theological virtues of Faith, Hope and Love, and the 4 Cardinal Virtues of Prudence, Fortitude, Temperance and Justice.  When we display these virtues it is an indication that a person is directing their lives towards God.  

Congratulations to the following award recipients.

Faith - supporting our Special Character.
Emmalyn Maddren
Emmalyn’s faith is evident every day through her genuine commitment to the Catholic life of our College. She consistently shows reverence, service, and a willingness to support our spiritual community, living out our values with sincerity and generosity.
Issa Abdulahhad
Issa is dedicated to growing Catholic character within the school and regularly provides service for the College.
Naethan Caraig
Supported our RE class mass by reading the Gospel. He is a role model of faith to others in the class.
Joseph Seemon
Joseph demonstrates thoughtful understanding of his faith through meaningful reflection. During religious journaling sessions he is insightful, honest, and shows a genuine connection to his beliefs. He inspires others to think more deeply and engage more personally with their faith journey.


Fortitude - demonstrating resilience and courage.
Celyn Rogayan
Celyn demonstrates a persistent effort in Mathematics, consistently trying her best and showing great courage by actively contributing to class discussions.
Eugene Khan
For quietly exemplifying resilience, respect and kindness.
Isaac Galang
Isaac has demonstrated great fortitude in Maths this term. He has worked very hard, asked the right questions and worked diligently in and out of the classroom. He persists even when it is hard.
Jasmine Lowther
Jasmine consistently shows resilience and courage, approaching the transition to Year 7 with a positive mindset. She has navigated the challenges of a new school environment with increasing confidence and perseverance.
Jesse Yates
Jesse has become really confident in class and has started putting his hand up to answer complex questions despite initial hesitancy, as well as presenting in class.
Lola Farrell
Lola has shown great fortitude in English this term during our studies of more complex texts. She has found the courage to contribute to class discussions to demonstrate her understanding.
Marjiam Felize Peña
Marjiam has shown fortitude in rehearsals for the school production by embracing the challenges of her demanding role and continuing to grow in confidence and skill with each practice.
Ryder Maifea
Ryder has demonstrated outstanding perseverance and resilience in his learning. He has worked consistently hard and shown a genuine desire to improve. His determination and progress have been excellent.
Simone Paterson
Simone has demonstrated great fortitude by stepping up to lead her house and speaking confidently in front of others.
Stella McAlister
Stella has shown fortitude as a house member by taking on a role in the house parade and showing resilience and commitment, performing to her best even when unwell.
Zac Vogrincic
Zac puts in extra time to make sure he completes his work, even when he finds it difficult.


Hope - bringing light into the world.
Beau Kitney
Beau really lights up the art room with his eagerness for learning!
Bryn Mair
Bryn's determination and optimism reflect a strong sense of hope in his learning journey.

Charlee-Rose leads by example in Kapahaka and Kaiārahi

Daniel is a great example of our school values during Kaiārahi and House time.

Douglas's wonderful attitude towards Mathematics has a positive impact on the whole class.

Ella shows hope by being patient and compassionate to all members of our class community. She brings hope to each interaction and provides joy to our class that everyone catches on to.

Emilly has been a great addition to our school. As a newcomer this year, she has settled in well and brings a great atmosphere to her friends and classes.

Kalai has, and will always, brighten up a room with her kindness, joy and friendly personality.

Lara consistently demonstrates remarkable patience, kindness, and empathy in her interactions with others. Her quiet compassion and maturity make her a truly special member of our classroom community.
Nacho Esquivel Garcia
Nacho shows hope through his achievements in Athletics, representing St Ignatius and inspiring others through his success.
Quinn Robinson
Quinn shows hope through her achievements in Rowing, placing 3rd in the North Island Champs for her age group. Her sporting achievement representing St Ignatius gives hope and encouragement to other students in school.
Renee Afoa
Renee is always helping others, leading the class in prayer and taking on an important organising role.
Rose Emelio
Rose is a dedicated learner who brings positive energy into the classroom.
Sienna Kilburn
Sienna’s work with the student council and her sporting achievements provide encouragement and hope to others.
Sonja Schlebusch
Sonja shows hope through her cheerful attitude and positive outlook, brightening the day for those around her.


Justice - being fair and just to all.
Douglas Easthope
Douglas has acted with great care, ensuring everyone gets a fair opportunity and supporting those who may feel left out.
Simon Joseph Vicente
Simon shows justice in the way he treats others fairly, respects those around him, and is willing to stand up for what’s right.


Love - demonstrating love for God and others.
Annabelle Shields
Annabelle is a dedicated and diligent learner who shows kindness by helping others with tasks in science class.
Elizabeth Wong
Elizabeth not only makes the most of every learning opportunity, she also demonstrates genuine love, care, and support for others.
Evony Burford
Evony radiates kindness in every lesson and always greets everyone with a smile.
Kalan Farrell
Kalan has demonstrated excellent leadership and commitment to Marian House by stepping up to take on a leading role in our House Parade.
Lauren Murillo
Lauren is a warm and caring student who ensures every member of her group feels valued, heard, and included. She approaches others with respect and offers encouragement at all times.
Mason Magaba
Mason demonstrates kindness, patience, and compassion in his interactions with others. He is a great support to students who need help or encouragement.
Olivia Fitzpatrick
Olivia sets an amazing example by ensuring all students are valued and cared for. She truly finds God in all people.

Tamsyn shows kindness every lesson, always arriving with a smile and a willingness to help others.

Tamsyn demonstrated love for others by stepping up to support a classmate with their assessment when needed.

Yasmin uplifts her peers and contributes positively to our community, reflecting God’s love through her inclusion of others.


Temperance - practicing self-control.
Brianna Emmerson
Brianna consistently demonstrates temperance as she is able to discern the appropriate time for shared laughter and the right moment for quiet, dedicated hard work.
Luka Anketell
Luka has demonstrated remarkable self-control in English throughout the term. He is a positive role model to his classmates and his contributions are highly valued.


Prudence - consistently making good choices.
Ava Fa'afiu
Ava has showcased prudence in her diligence with art. She has worked hard to keep up with her mahi and excel.
Ayva Taito
Ayva consistently demonstrates excellent judgement and responsibility towards her learning. Whenever she is absent or misses a class, she proactively seeks out the work she has missed and ensures that she completes it to a high standard. This shows strong initiative, self-management, and a commitment to making good choices in her academic journey.
Ben Hunter
Ben has been making great decisions in both Science and in 11 MAGIS, helping students and teachers all term.
Dominic Kriletich
Dominic has been consistently making good choices during practical work and is very on topic, even helping other students in his class.
Eddie Wynne
Eddie settles quickly and gets straight to work. He manages his time effectively to complete every task and is always willing to help others. He is focused and reliable.
Hailey Zhao
Hailey's thoughtful attitude and commitment to doing his best reflect strong judgement and responsibility in his learning.
Logan Bower
Logan has been showing great prudence throughout the term with the effort he brings both in and out of class and decisions he chooses to make in relation to challenging situations.
Marius Christof Vicente
Marius is consistently making the right choices to ensure his own academic achievement goals are reached.
Quinn Robinson
Quinn has been making positive choices by catching up on her work and studying hard for her test. She is showing responsibility and a strong commitment to her learning.
Scarlett Fox
Scarlett consistently makes positive choices in the classroom. She demonstrates excellent self-control, listening attentively and taking great pride in her work, presenting it neatly and to a high standard. She also always wears her uniform with care and pride.
Tamsyn Bennett
Tamsyn has worked well this year. She has taken her responsibilities as a House leader to heart and contributed well thought out ideas. Recently she has taken on Xavier House Captain duties and leads with confidence and clarity.
