Auckland Regional Reader's Cup 2026

On Tuesday, 23 June, four ākonga from St Ignatius travelled to Dilworth School to compete in the Auckland Regional Reader's Cup. Representing our school with pride were Andy Nguyen, Ashna Smith, Stella Thomson, and Ashleen Kaur.

In preparation for the competition, the team read six novels, met regularly to discuss each book, and quizzed one another to strengthen their knowledge. On the day, teams competed across six challenging rounds, with each round worth 10 points.

We are thrilled to announce that our team, The Loyola Lupines, rose to the challenge and claimed 1st place in the competition!

This outstanding achievement means The Loyola Lupines have qualified for the National Reader's Cup, which will take place at the end of September. The team now has another six novels to read as they prepare for the next stage of the competition.

Congratulations to Andy, Ashna, Stella, and Ashleen on this fantastic achievement. We wish them all the very best as they represent St Ignatius at the National Reader's Cup!
