NZ Made Interschool Dance Competition
NZ Made Interschool Dance Competition.
On Wednesday the26th of August, our AIMS Hip Hop groups attended the NZ Made Interschool Dance Competition and Workshops, where they had the opportunity to spend the day learning from and working alongside professional industry dancers. The students competed against schools from across the country in a range of dance genres, including Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Jazz and Contemporary. Throughout the day, they also attended workshops and conferences focused on Commercial and Lyrical Dance, as well as taking part in a fun and energetic jam session with Danceman Dean.
Our Hip Hop team performed exceptionally well, placing in the Top 8 out of 29 groups which is an outstanding achievement! A particular congratulations goes to Kendall Yates, who was selected as one of just five dancers from more than 400 participants to receive a Gold Award. This award will see Kendall invited to attend further workshops in January 2027 — a fantastic recognition of her talent and commitment. A huge thank you to Mrs Yates, who choreographed the girls' performance and accompanied them throughout the competition. We look forward to seeing how our talented Hip Hop group continues to perform at the AIMS Competition next week. We wish them the very best!
