Sports - Term 4 Week 2 2026
Sport at St Ignatius
This week, we took our group and sports photos, and it was great to see just how much sport has grown since we first opened two years ago. Our sporting programme continues to develop, with more ākonga participating and representing our college across a wide range of codes.
As we grow, we are also working on strategic plans to strengthen our programmes and establish a clear sporting identity within the wider community. There is still plenty of room for growth, but it is encouraging to see the progress we have made and the foundations we are continuing to build.
St Ignatius Sports Awards 2026
As we look ahead to our 2026 Sports Awards on Tuesday 1 December, we are excited to introduce opportunities for additional awards recognising achievement and contribution within specific sporting codes.
We are seeking Expressions of Interest from individuals, whānau and businesses interested in sponsoring a code-specific award in Rugby, Netball, Hockey, Basketball, Badminton or Volleyball.
We are also calling for nominations in two categories:
Student Volunteer Award – recognising ākonga who have made a significant contribution to sport through volunteering and service.
Outstanding Sporting Achievement – recognising exceptional sporting achievements by ākonga representing clubs, regions or
organisations outside of school.
All nominations and sponsorship expressions of interest close Thursday 5 November.

Student Volunteer of the Year Nomination

Thank You to Our AIMS Games 2026 Sponsors
We would like to take a moment to acknowledge and thank the generous businesses and organisations who supported our teams at the 2026 AIMS Games.
Their contributions helped make this experience possible for our ākonga, and we are incredibly grateful for the support shown by our wider community.
