Year 7 Camp 2025

Year 7 Camp 2025

Our Year 7 Cohort had an incredible time at Lakewood Lodge for camp.

Our Year 7 ākonga had the incredible opportunity to attend camp at Lakewood Lodge. It was four fun filled days of adventure, teamwork, and unforgettable memories. Ākonga took part in a wide range of exciting activities including kayaking, rock climbing, flying fox, and the ever popular survival camp. One of the highlights was the survival experience of building tents, lighting fires, and braving the chilly night with friends. It was a true test of resilience and teamwork, and a memory many will treasure for years to come. Beyond the activities, students were inspired by the supportive instructors and the spirit of giving everything a go. Camp was not only fun, but also a chance to discover new strengths, build confidence, and grow friendships.

A huge thank you to our amazing teachers, wonderful parent helpers, and the Lakewood Lodge team for making this experience possible. Also, a big thank you to FOSI for their sponsorship of our camp tents. Everyone’s community spirit and support helped create a camp full of laughter, learning, and lifelong memories.

Here are some student reflections on the experience:

On Tuesday the 6th of October 2025 the year sevens had the great opportunity to go to Lakewood Lodge for camp. It was a great experience with incredible activities like kayaking, rock climbing, flying fox, survival camp and many more exciting activities. Lakewood Lodge definitely has the whole package of what a camp should have, especially their food! A fond memory that I will always treasure was staying the night at survival camp with my friends. Lighting up our own fire, racing in the mud run, building our own tent and sleeping in our tent was a real challenge due to its cold temperature but was definitely a fabulous experience as year sevens. I certainly recommend going to camp because it is such a wonderful experience with memories that will last a lifetime and lastly I recommend giving every activity a go because you can improve new skills or talents that you never knew that you had the ability to do. Lastly, I would like to give an enormous thank you to our teachers, parent helpers and the staff of Lakewood Lodge for making camp possible for us students to have such an enjoyable experience. Thank you so much.

Lakewood lodge —what a wonderful experience that was. The staff, animals, cabins, everything has been an astonishment for me. Thank you for making my first time at Lakewood lodge a remarkable time of laughter and joy. And that the staff serves as an inspirational force for me, to give everything a go and never give up; trying your best. Thanks to you, I believe that everyone has potential for good change, even in the toughest time of life. Ultimately, I want to say a big thank you for everything you've done for me. I will never forget this memorable event.
