World Youth Day 2026

St Ignatius and St Patrick's Pukekohe go to WYD Auckland!

Every year, the Catholic Diocese of Auckland hosts their biggest event of the year, World Youth Day Auckland. This is an opportunity for thousands of young Catholics over Auckland to come together and celebrate all that it means to be young and Catholic! This year, we had 41 youth and students join our St Patrick's Pukekohe and St Ignatius College combined group. It was an amazing day!

"Inspired by John 15:27, the theme of World Youth Day 2026 was Witness. Through powerful talks, guest speakers encouraged us to fix our gaze on Jesus and to be courageous witnesses of Christ in our everyday lives. The day was filled with fellowship, uplifting praise and worship, and quieter moments of prayer and Adoration. It was wonderful to meet other young Catholics who share the same love for the Lord and to celebrate our faith together." - Deanna Fermin, Year 10

"Attending World Youth Day in Auckland last Saturday was an incredibly rewarding and unforgettable experience, as it gave me the unique opportunity to connect with over 2,000 young youth students who share the same values, goals and beliefs.
