Sports - Week 3 Term 4 2026
Sport 2027 and Beyond – Whānau Hui
Our Ignatian Rugby Committee has set a great foundation for developing a sporting community, establishing a shared vision and planning for the future. With other sporting codes showing interest in growing their own communities, we are looking to build on this momentum heading into 2027 and beyond.
Guided by our College Sport Strategic Plan, the 4Cs and our Ignatian values, we have developed a Sporting Committee Planning Template to support each code in establishing its own identity, priorities and direction.
We invite interested whānau and members of our sporting community to join us for a Sport 2027 and Beyond Whānau Hui on Thursday 26 November, 6.00–7.00pm.
We will introduce the template, explain the process and discuss how the Sports Department can support other sporting codes to begin developing their own committees and communities.
Clay Target
Congratulations to Bryn Mair who placed 2nd in C grade at the Auckland Met club shoot on Sunday 18th October in the process he also shot his first 25/25.
The team is now joined by Hannah Mackintosh and is gaining some good traction. A full school team requires 5 members (year 9 & older), with shoots starting in February. If you're interested in having a go contact Mrs Compston.

Physio update
The St Ignatius school physiotherapy clinic has been running for most of the year, and it has been great to see the program so well supported by students and the school community.
The clinic provides convenient access to physiotherapy for students with musculoskeletal, sports-related and growth-related injuries, with both ACC-funded and private appointments available.
Booking and appointments
Please complete the physiotherapy consent form here before your student's appointment.
Appointment fees
ACC: $40 initial consultation / $30 follow-up
Private: $70 initial consultation / $50 follow-up
Thank you to the school, students and families for supporting the programme throughout the year. It's been great to be part of the St Ignatius community and help students stay active, recover from injuries and continue participating in school and sport.
Please contact me by email ([email protected]) or by phone (09 238 7484) if you have any questions or concerns.

Tag tournament
On Thursday we attended the Auckland College Sports Tag Tournament, this was the second time our Junior girls have attended this tournament improving on their results from last year, first up they had a tough game against Manurewa High losing this match, next up they played Alfriston winning this match, going into the third game they needed to win against Otahuhu to go through to the play offs unfortunately this ended in a draw!
For the Junior boys this was their first tournament, coming up against some very strong teams they played One Tree Hill College, Te Kaikura a Kiwa & Mangere College. The boys displayed strong skills & developed as a team throughout the day. Huge thanks to Olivia Fitzpatrick & Elijah Koaneti for stepping up to coach this team
Special thanks to our parents who assisted for the day Nic Mair, Matt Reichenbach & Brian Wynne.
