AIMS Games 2026

This year, 79 athletes represented St Ignatius across 13 different disciplines at the 2026 AIMS Games in Tauranga Moana. From individual events and team sports through to gymnastics and hip hop, our ākonga represented the College across a wide range of competition throughout the week.

3x3 Basketball

Our 3x3 Basketball team started the week strongly in the mixed competition, working their way through the tournament to finish Top 8 overall.

Hip Hop

Our Hip Hop team performed on Saturday night, receiving a great response from the crowd and other schools. The team enjoyed their first AIMS Games experience and are already looking ahead to next year.

Cross Country

George Linehan represented St Ignatius in Cross Country on Sunday, taking on the AIMS Games course to begin his busy week of competition.

Swimming

Isla Shields and Indi Allison represented the College at Baywave, competing across a number of swimming events throughout the week.

Gymnastics

Hazel Gault, Ella Simcox-Castro, Marina Nasa and Scarlett Styles represented St Ignatius across the Gymnastics competition. A highlight was Ella finishing 2nd on Beam and 3rd overall in Step 3 Gymnastics.

Netball

Our Girls Netball team competed throughout the week and finished the tournament maintaining a strong overall ranking.

Boys Football

The Boys Football team had an excellent tournament, finishing 11th overall in a highly competitive field.

Girls Football

The Girls Football team showed plenty of skill and determination throughout the week, competing strongly across their pool and placing matches.

RIP Rugby

Our RIP Rugby team used their speed and teamwork well throughout the tournament, representing the College strongly across a busy week of games.

Hockey

Our Hockey team continued to learn and develop throughout the tournament, gaining valuable experience from their first AIMS Games campaign.

Tennis

Milly Marriner competed throughout the week in Tennis, showing composure on court and finishing her tournament with a well-earned win.

Orienteering

George Linehan and Eddie Wynne represented St Ignatius in Orienteering, adding another individual discipline to our AIMS Games programme.

Across the week, our 79 athletes took part in one of the largest intermediate sporting events in the country. Thank you to all our coaches, managers, volunteers and whānau who supported our athletes and helped make AIMS Games 2026 possible.
